📍 The Role: Freelance Site Engineer

📍Sector: Civils/ Groundworks

📍Duration: 9 Months

 

UPB are working with a regional groundworks contractor to hire a Freelance Site Engineer, focusing delivering a commercial groundworks scheme.

You will be working as part of a largescale groundworks package, delivering from piling, foundations, through to slabs, bolts and externals.

The ideal Site Engineer will be able to demonstrate experience working on commercial groundworks package, either as a setting out Engineer or in a Senior Engineer role overseeing other Engineers. You will have a proven history.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise construction activities to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.

  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to the project team.

  • Experience of setting out

  • Have input with the onsite Engineering team, and in-house design team

  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure work is being carried out to the highest quality standards.

  • Implement and enforce quality control measures on-site.

  • Be able to provide QA and support to setting out Engineers

  • Collaborate with the project team to resolve any quality-related issues promptly.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • CSCS

  • SMSTS (Preferable)

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.

  • Proven experience as a Senior Site Engineer in groundworks and civils.

  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.

  • Proficient in project management software and Microsoft Office suite.
