UPB are a specialist construction & infrastructure recruiter; currently working with a regional groundworks contractor to hire a full-time Site Engineer.
As a Site Engineer you will be focusing on setting out and technical aspects of civils and groundworks projects. You will be working with a local, tight-knit team on varied packages varying around £250k - £5m in value, as part of an experienced management team who pride themselves on customer satisfaction and repeat business. Projects include highways, infrastructure, education, commercial and housing developments.
In this role you will be responsible for all setting out activity, QA and technical aspects of a groundworks package. You will check and prepare site reports, designs and drawings and also manage, monitor and interpret the contract design documents. You will ensure project packages meet agreed specifications, budgets, timescales and provide technical advise and solving problems on-site.
In addition you will be doing Basic Setting out and as built survey, placing requisitions/material orders, requesting permits and perform quality controls of subcontracted work and self delivered activities.
Preferred Experience & Qualifications
• HNC/Degree (Construction/Civil Engineering related) or equivalent
• Demonstration of knowledge and practical application of Site Engineering activities combined with construction supervision skills.
• Experience in construction industry, particularly in groundworks, slabs, drainage, foundation works is essential for this role.
• Proficiency in using engineering software like AutoCAD and tools such as GPS and total stations.
• Familiarity with UK building and construction regulations.
• Holder of CSCS card
• Full driving licence required
