UPB are proud to be partnering with a leading civil engineering principal contractor who are seeking an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to join their established commercial team based in Birchwood, Cheshire.

This is an outstanding opportunity to join a business with excellent staff retention, a strong forward workload, and secured long-term frameworks across multiple sectors of civil engineering.

The Brief

As the Managing Quantity Surveyor, you’ll take a hands-on approach across a mix of management and commercial duties, overseeing a portfolio of civil engineering projects. You’ll be part of a large, supportive commercial function delivering high-quality infrastructure works with a strong pipeline of secured projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and mentoring a team of Quantity Surveyors

  • Managing project financial performance from procurement to final account

  • Supporting bid and tender activities on framework contracts

  • Ensuring effective cost control and value management

  • Building long-term relationships with clients and framework partners

About You

We’re looking for an experienced QS professional who can confidently balance leadership and project delivery responsibilities.

✅ Strong background in civil engineering or infrastructure projects
✅ Previous experience in a senior or managing QS role
✅ Excellent communication and leadership skills
✅ Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
