UPB is working on behalf of a well-established principal contractor based in Wakefield, delivering high-quality construction projects valued between £5m and £15m.

Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced commercial professional to take full commercial responsibility for a project from inception through to final account.

The Role
You will be responsible for managing one project commercially, acting as the key commercial lead throughout the project lifecycle. Duties will include:

• Full commercial management from pre-construction to completion

• Procurement of subcontractors and suppliers

• Preparation and management of monthly cost/value reports

• Valuations, variations, and final accounts

• Change control and commercial risk management

• Working under JCT contracts

• Liaising closely with site, design, and client teams

About You

• Proven experience working for a principal contractor

• Strong background managing projects in the £5m–£15m range

• Sound knowledge and hands-on experience of JCT contracts

• Commercially astute with strong negotiation skills

• Able to work autonomously and take ownership of a project
