UPB are currently recruiting for an experienced Freelance Quantity Surveyor to join a major Civil Engineering project based in Worthing, West Sussex. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute Quantity Surveyor seeking a long-term freelance contract operating outside IR35 with a competitive day rate of £400 per shift.

The successful Quantity Surveyor will have proven experience working within the civil engineering and infrastructure sector, with strong knowledge of the NEC form of contract and the ability to manage commercial functions across live projects.

Quantity Surveyor Responsibilities:

• Managing commercial activities across civil engineering projects

• Administering and managing NEC contracts

• Preparing and reviewing valuations, variations, and final accounts

• Monitoring project costs and forecasting budgets

• Managing subcontractor accounts and payments

• Supporting project delivery teams with commercial advice

• Identifying and mitigating commercial risks

• Producing accurate financial reporting and cost analysis

• Quantity Surveyor Requirements

• Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering or infrastructure

• Strong understanding and practical knowledge of NEC contracts

• Ability to work independently on freelance assignments

• Excellent negotiation and communication skills

• Strong commercial awareness and analytical ability

• Relevant Quantity Surveying qualification preferred
